What is a Gated Community?

A gated community is a residential area that is restricted by a physical barrier and has limited access. The gates are usually closed at night. Residents have access to the amenities inside the community.

A gated community provides security and privacy for its residents. It also creates a sense of belongingness among the residents.

The History of Gated Communities

Gated communities are a form of residential community or neighborhood that use physical barriers such as fences, walls, and gates to exclude non-residents.

The first gated communities were established in the late 1920s in response to the increasing crime rates in cities. The idea was that if rich people lived behind a gate, they would be safe from the lower-income people outside. and it would be harder for criminals to shoplift from the well-off and poor people could also socialize more easily. Today, gated communities are mostly sought out by people who have a lot of money or have had a lot of wealth in the past.

The first gated community was established in 1928 by John Galsworthy on the outskirts of London. As a result of this development, many other wealthy families followed suit.

How Gated Communities Have Changed Over Time

Gated communities have been around for a long time. They were first introduced in the 1920s and they have evolved a lot since then.

Gated communities are not only about the physical walls that surround them anymore. These days, they are more about the community itself, which is why many of these communities have their own schools, shops, parks and other facilities.

This evolution has led to a change in what defines a gated community. A gated community used to be exclusive because it was surrounded by physical walls but today’s gated communities are exclusive because of the cost of living inside them and the services that they offer.

The Future of Gated Communities

The future of gated communities is not in the physical sense but in a digital sense. People will not be able to move freely from one place to another and instead, they will be stuck within their own digital world.
